CallWave Review: Visual Voicemail Through Email and Widgets

I’ve always liked the idea of getting voicemail in my e-mail inbox as it allowed me to listen to each voicemail when I want as well as store or forward voicemails. Most of the solutions to date were part of unified messaging which required a new service provider and too many complications.
CallWave presents a simple solution that allows anyone to get what Steve Jobs called Visual Voicemaill in the iPhone. This is the ability to see your voicemail and choose which ones to listen to, the abilty to easily forward voicemails via email and the ability to store them for the long term (no more having a carrier delete them after a few weeks).
The service easily ties into your current voicemail by simply forwarding unanswered calls to their voicemail service instead of your own service provider. From there, you have several ways of retrieving voicemail:
1) You get a voicemail audio file in your email inbox. I also get this on my mobile email (on a Samsung Blackjack) so I can listen from my phone when I’m ready.
2) You can dial your own phone number and retrieve voicemails in the traditional manner.
3) You can go to your account on the CallWave Web site to view, listen and delete
voicemails.
4) You can do the same from the computer desktop using a small program that constantly updates and lists your calls and voicemails.
5) And the service is free (at least for now).
If you tend to get a lot of daily phones calls and messages, I would highly recommend trying this service.
