Fight Overspinning and Buzzwords with the Bullfighter
I installed the Bullfighter a few weeks ago and have been using it as a check on anything I write (even some emails). It’s a basic check to clear out obvious spin and buzzwords so that pieces are clear, factual and less likely to make the Bad Pitch Blog (or the collection of amusing emails that I keep).
It install easily in MS Word. You simply load a document, run the program and read the ratings to see how well, or poorly, you’ve scored on the buzz index.
Is it a comprehensive tool? No. But using it serves as a good reminder to present the facts and the context in plain English. Something that’s in short supply across the business world.
Perhaps it should be a required enterprise installation for any business.
