Fierce Wireless said it, Sprint is taking a hit of $31 billion (loss of goodwill) when it found that intangibles like customer relations, employee relations, brand reputation - all core reputation elements - had depreciated in value. I’m paraphrasing but read the article. While Goodwill does encompass other areas of worth, these reputation areas are a big part of it.
It’s a good reminder that at the most senior level we can provide counsel that goes directly to the bottom line value of the company. It begs the question, where are senior corporate communications executives providing business analysts of what actions support (or hurt) the reputation elements that directly support goodwill value.
